This one-of-a-kind slab of Monterey Cypress was salvaged from a tree in Monterey that was being attacked by burrowing insects and therefore needed to be felled. The slab has been kiln dried, cleaned, and stabilized and what has resulted is an intricate display of tunnels and forms cut from the inside of the hollowed out cypress. The two sides surrounding the hollow center of the tree have been joined by a clear epoxy resin that can be left hazy or buffed to a crystal clear finish.

This tabletop just needs a little more cleanup and sanding and then will be ready to be turned into a centerpiece for any home. Because it is unfinished, options for a table base are wide open and the top can be cut to any custom size. It is currently roughly 3’ x 8’.
